We've made a small but promising start on hacking through the mountain of stuff left to do before the wedding. The house is somewhat cleaner than it was, and the lasagna meat (for the carnivorous attendees) is cooking merrily away. There has been much pruning and tidying in the yard, mostly done by Jackie, who is probably still pissed off at me for denying her a ride to her friend's birthday party, the need for which she sprang on us this morning, and only after I thought to ask. But, after the initial sulk, she has been quite helpful. She is now collapsed on the couch.
We've also got the boxes of clothes loaded into the car. We were going to free-cycle them, but time is short, so unless anyone is willing to take seven boxes of assorted boy and girl clothing of various sizes soon, we'll probably just take them to Deseret and donate them.
Last night,
erisian_fields and I sat down and actually wrote the ceremony, and mailed it to
the_misha in preparation for our meeting with him on Sunday. Though much must remain hidden for now, it is blessedly short and to the point, so as to interfere minimally with the partying.
Alas that we can't have
The Kimberly Trip bring the full rawk, but we fear that our neighbors just wouldn't understand. So acoustic it shall have to be, which might even include me playing on some of the pieces if TKT will be so inclined. Who knows.
I find that the thing I'm looking forward to most is the family that I have missed for the time I've been out here, almost two and a half years now. It'll be good to see them, including the small selection of my MI friends who can attend.
